iOS 26.6.2: Springboard UI freeze and home gesture failure after tapping "More" in Share Sheet with no active background apps

iOS version 26.6.2

Model: iPhone 17

Active Apps: None (App Switcher is empty/ "No Recent Apps" state)

Description:

When there are no background apps running in memory, initiating a "Share App" action from any Home Screen icon and selecting the "More" option in the iOS Share Sheet causes the system interface (SpringBoard) to freeze.

The device handles the initial web link redirect through Safari to the App Store, but once inside the App Store, but once inside the App Store, the system's gesture recognizers fail completely. Swiping up on the home bar does not minimize the app, trigger the App Switcher, or respond to navigation. Dock apps and system controls become completely unresponsive, placing the device in a semi-frozen state that requires a forced hardware reboot to resolve.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Clear all background apps from memory so the App Switcher is empty.

2. Long-press any app icon on the Home Screen to bring up the action menu.

3. Select Share App.

4. On the iOS Share Sheet, tap the More icon (...) in the app list row.

5. Observe as Safari briefly opens a web URL and hands execution off to the App Store app.

6. Attempt to swipe up from the bottom home indication bar to exit the App Store or open the App Switcher.

Expected Result:

The device should allow normal gesture navigation (swiping up to go home or accessing the App Switcher) without interrupting the SpringBoard's window management.

Actual Result:

The home bar gesture and lower UI controls become entirely unresponsive. SpringBoard enters a UI deadlock, trapping the device on the App Store page and forcing a manual hard reboot to restore full system function.

There are no active apps on the phone.

Select "Share App" from any Home Screen icon...

Select the More "..." option on the app list from the iOS Share Sheet...

Select the "Safari" option from the "Suggestions" list...

The user is whisked in (and out) of this screen...

Swipe up from the Apple App Store screen...

The device is in a semi-frozen state. Can't swipe through the home screen apps, can't activate app, etc. Phone must be rebooted.
