LC Waikiki RS app for iOS: Facebook Sharing Is Disabled From In-App Share Sheet

 iOS 17.5.1

LC Waikiki RC app for iOS (version 1.0.19)

Date: 6/21/2024

Description:

There is a Facebook sharing bug with the Serbian version of the LC Waikiki app for iOS. Inside of the app, users can select items of clothing.

Like most clothing retailer apps, there is an option to share each item of clothing.

Unusually, there is an in-app share option that is displayed when the user goes to share an item. That in-app share sheet looks like this:

Once you select the share option from any item, an in-app share sheet is activated...

The Facebook sharing option does not work. If the user selects "more" and activates the iOS share sheet, the Facebook sharing option works then.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the LC Waikiki RC app for iOS

2. Head to any item of clothing

3. Activate the sharing option

4. From the "Share Product" sharing sheet, press the faded Facebook icon

Result: the Facebook sharing featuring inside of the LC Waikiki RC app for iOS is not operating - pressing the option from the in-app share sheet to does activate the Facebook sharing process

Expected: the Facebook sharing option from inside of the LC Waikiki RC app should operate and should share an item of clothing to Facebook

Domain Real Estate & Property app for iOS: Declining Facebook prompt still opens up Facebook sharing

iOS 13.6
Domain Real Estate & Property app for iOS (version 10.2.7)
Date: 08/14/20

Description:

There's an odd problem with Facebook sharing and the Domain Real Estate & Property app for iOS. This is a problem that I have occasionally seen with different apps, but I haven't been able to reproduce it on a consistent basis until I was able to do it with the Domain Real Estate & Property app.

Here's a screenshot of the issue:

The user will be presented with a prompt like this after trying to share a real estate listing. If the user selects the "Cancel" option to this prompt...

The Facebook sharing option still opens up! This shouldn't be happening, especially if the user declined this from the prompt.

With the Domain app this happens if:

The user shares something using the iOS share sheet while browsing the app in guest mode, or with any account created OTHER than Facebook login accounts.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Domain Real Estate & Property app
2. (Don't create an account) - Select any real estate listing in the app
3. From any listing, select the share option
4. From the iOS share sheet menu, scroll over and select the "..." option
5. From the "Apps" option, scroll down and select "Facebook"
6. From the "Domain" wants to open "Facebook" prompt - select "Cancel"

Result: Selecting "Cancel" from an open Facebook prompt inside of the Domain Real Estate app does not work - selecting "Cancel" still opens a Facebook prompt

Expected: Selecting a "Cancel" option should NOT open up a Facebook sharing menu

Select any real estate listing...

Select the share option to activate the iOS Share Sheet...

Scroll over and select the "..." option...

Scroll down and select the "Facebook" option (notice that it is missing)...

Select the "Cancel" option...

The Facebook sharing option still appears!!!

Blinkist app for iOS: Auto-generated Facebook message results in a dead link!

iOS 13.4.1
Blinist app for iOS (version 6.3.0)
Date: 04/30/20

Description:

Here's a minor bug with the Blinkist app. I think that this can be fixed quickly. I think it might explain if there's been a loss of referrals to Blinkist via Facebook.

The default (auto-generated) Facebook message results in a dead link.

There's the @blinkist, which combines with the URL to make a dead link. Lots of people have shared these dead links on Facebook, with users on Facebook mentioning that the links are dead:

Since most people share these links via Facebook, and then never go back to check their Facebook postings, this most likely goes unnoticed. The site is losing traffic!

Lots of dead links on Facebook:

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Launch the app
2. After entering into the app, select the "Free Daily Pick"
3. Select the "..." in the upper right
4. From the iOS Share Sheet, select the Facebook option
5. Share the link to Facebook
6. Head to Facebook and notice that the link is dead

Result: Sharing something from the Blinkist app to Facebook results in a dead link

Expected: Sharing something to from the Blinkist app to Facebook should not result in a dead link - should be a space between @Blinkist and the URL

iOS 13.3
Massimo Dutti app for iOS (version 9.16.0)
Date: 01/12/2020

There is a minor bug with sharing items from the Massimo Dutti app to Facebook. When the user shares an item listed in the app to Facebook, the auto-generated description of the product displays the word "null" in the Facebook post.

Take a look at these screenshots:

Shouldn't ever be displaying the word "null" when sharing something from an iOS app.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download the Massimo Dutti app for iOS
2. Share a product via the Share Sheet to Facebook
3. Note the word "null" appears

Result: The word "null" appears when sharing a product from the Massimo Dutti app to Facebook

Expected: The word "null" should never appear when sharing a product from inside the Massimo Dutti app to Facebook
