Woot app for iOS: "Conditions of Use" and "Privacy Notice" links on an Amazon Sign-In screen lead to an error page

Description:

Two links to Amazon's "Conditions of Use" and "Privacy Notice" do not work inside of the Woot app for iOS. 

These links take the user to a page that looks like this:

Please take a look at the screenshots below for additional information. 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Launch the Woot app for iOS (version 5.6.0)

2. Select "Account"

3. From the "Account" screen select "Log in to Woot"

4. From the Woot Sign-in screen, select "Create your Amazon account"

5. From the Amazon Sign-In screen, select either "Conditions of Use" or "Privacy Notice"

Result: the "Conditions of Use" and "Privacy Notice" links accessible from inside of the Woot app on an Amazon Sign-in screen do NOT take the user to valid conditions of use or privacy notices 

Expected: all "Conditions of Use" and "Privacy Notice" links accessible from inside of the Woot app should always be working links that lead to valid conditions of us and privacy notices 

Launch the Woot app...

Enter into the app...

Select the "Account" option...

Select the "Log in to Woot" option...

Select the "Create your Amazon account" option...

Select either the "Conditions of Use" or "Privacy Notice" links...

User lands here.

Southeastern Arizona FCU app for iOS: "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links lead to a "couldn't find the page you were looking for." error message

An app called Southeastern Arizona FCU has two bad links on the detail page for it in the Apple App Store. Those links lead to:

It is an Apple requirement that privacy policy links in the Apple App store lead to valid and readable privacy policies. 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Head to the Apple App Store detail page for the Southeastern Arizona FCU app for iOS

2. Scroll down and select either "Developer's Privacy Policy" or "Privacy Policy"

Result: The "developer's privacy policy" and "privacy policy" links accessible from the Southeastern Arizona FCU app's detail page lead to an error message on seafcu.com instead of a valid privacy policy 

Expected: The "developer's privacy policy" and "privacy policy" links accessible from the Southeastern Arizona FCU's detail page lead an error message

Rogue Credit Union app for iOS: The "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" Links Open to a Download Message

Description:

Here's an oddity that I haven't seen before! An app called Rogue Credit Union (for a credit union in Oregon) has the typical problem with non-working "developer's privacy policy" and "privacy policy" links listed on the Apple App Store detail page for the app.

The odd thing that on an iPhone selecting the privacy policy link actually prompts a download dialog. This is the message that is displayed the user after being whisked from the Apple App Store to: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rogue-credit-union/id1382896850



Clicking "Download" does nothing and the privacy policy is not available to the end user. 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. On an iPhone, head to the Apple App Store detail page for Rogue Credit Union 

2. Scroll down and select either "privacy policy" or "developer's privacy policy"

Result: Selecting either the "privacy policy" or "developer's privacy policy" links from the Apple App Store listing for the Rogue Credit Union app result in the user being take to a non-working page that displays a download dialog 

Expected: User should not be presented with a download dialog from a link in the Apple App Store. User should be taken to a valid and readable privacy policy 


From the Rogue Credit Union detail page in the Apple App Store, scroll down to "developer's privacy policy" or "privacy policy" - select either of these links...


User is left stranded on this page, with a non-working "Download" option.

Recs: Places Made Simple app for iOS: "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links lead to a time-out and 404 error pages

Description:

There's a problem with the Privacy Policy links on the Recs: Places Made Simple app's detail page in the Apple App Store. 

Both the "Privacy Policy" and "Developer's Privacy Policy" links lead to 404 "Page not found" error message or to a timeout error. 

In short: these links aren't working when they should be.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Head to the Recs: Places Made Simple detail page in the Apple App Store
2. Click on the Privacy Policy link
3. Click on the Developer's Privacy Policy link

Result: the privacy policy links on the detail page in the Apple App Store for the Recs: Places Made Simple app are not working - one leads to a time-out error page and one leads to a 404 error message 

Expected: privacy policy links in the Apple App store should always work

The "privacy policy" and "developer's privacy policy" links on the Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union iOS app's detail page in the Apple App Store lead to a PAGE NOT FOUND error message.

Steps to Reproduce:

2. From the Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union detail page scroll down to either "Developer's Privacy Policy" or "Privacy Policy"

Result: The "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links do NOT lead to a valid privacy policy - they lead to a PAGE NOT FOUND error message

Expected: The user should always have access to a valid privacy policy from the links on an Apple App Store detail page for an iOS app 


Head to the Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union detail page in the Apple App Store


Click on the "developer's privacy policy" link...


Click on the "Privacy Policy" link...


Not a valid privacy policy.

PFCU OMAHA app for iOS: "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links in Apple App Store detail page lead to a "404 PAGE NOT FOUND" error message

Description:

The "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links on the Apple App Store detail page for the Police Federal Credit Union Omaha (PFCU OMAHA) app for iOS lead to 404 pages that look like this:

This link: https://www.opfcu.net/mobile-privacy-policy/ leads to a PAGE NOT FOUND error message. In December this was linked to a valid privacy policy.  

Please fix, as access to a valid privacy policy is an Apple App Store requirement. 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Head to the PFCU OMAHA detail page in the Apple App Store 

2. Select either "Developer's Privacy Policy" or "Privacy Policy"

Result: The "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links on the Apple App Store detail page for the PFCU OMAHA app for iOS lead to a "404 PAGE NOT FOUND" error message

Expected: Users should have access to valid privacy policy links in the Apple App Store 



Head to the PFCU OMAHA app's detail page in the Apple App Store


Click on the "developer's privacy policy" link...


Click on the "Privacy Policy" link...


Result is a 404 error page.

Description:

There is a problem with the "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links that are required on the Apple App Store detail page for the Mazuma Mobile app.

These links end up returning a 404 error page:

This only happens from the Apple App Store detail page - the in-app links work as expected. 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Head to the Mazuma Mobile detail page in the Apple Apple Store
2. Select either "Developer's Privacy Policy" or "Privacy Policy"

Result: The "Developer's Privacy Policy" and "Privacy Policy" links on the Apple App Store detail pages for the Mazuma Mobile app lead to a 404 error page 

Expected: Users should always have access to valid privacy policies from privacy policy links in the Apple App Store

Select either the "developer's privacy policy" link, or the...

The Apple App Store detail page for Dairy State Bank Business has a problem. The "developer's privacy policy" and "privacy policy" links lead to a 404 error message.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Head to the detail page for Dairy State Bank Business app

2. Click on the either the "developer's privacy policy" or "privacy policy" links

Result: The "developer's privacy policy" and "privacy policy" links on the Dairy State Bank Business app's detail page lead to a 404 error page located at: https://dairystatebank.com/privacy.html

Expected: The "developer's privacy policy" and "privacy policy" links on the Dairy State Bank Business app's detail page should not link to a 404 error message - should lead to a valid privacy policy 



NOTE: This does not reproduce with the related Dairy State Bank Mobile app. The Apple App Store rules state that there needs to be a working link to a privacy policy in the app store detail page for an app. 


Head to the detail page for the Dairy State Bank Business app in the Apple App Store. 


Click on either of the privacy policy links on this detail page...




The user is taken to a 404 error message.

MyColumbiaCU app for iOS: Privacy Policy and Developer's Privacy Policy Links in the Apple App Store lead to a AWS NoSuchBucket Error Message

Description: 

Here's an odd one: instead of a 404 page indicating a lack of a correct link to a privacy policy, an app connected to a credit union called MyColumbiaCU has two links that lead to an AWS invalid bucket error message. These two links are the Privacy Policy and Developer's Privacy Policy links from the Apple App Store listing for the app. 


The bad link can be found at: https://ingaged-config.s3.amazonaws.com/static/privacy_policy.html

I'll write a review, report this with Apple, and try to send an email to the company that released the app. 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Head to the MyColumbiaCU app for iOS Apple App Store listing 
2. Click on either "Privacy Policy" or "Developer's Privacy Policy" 

Result: From MyColumbiaCU's Apple App Store detail page, both the Privacy Policy and Developer's Privacy Policy links lead to an AWS NoSuchBucket Error page 

Expected: The Privacy Policy and Developer's Privacy Policy links on the MyColumbiaCU Apple App Store listing should link to valid privacy policies 


Head to the Apple App Store listing for the MyColumbiaCU app for iOS. Scroll down to either the "Developer's Privacy Policy" or "Privacy Policy" links. 


Click on a link such as Developer's Privacy Policy...

An iOS app called Up4Graps crashes when the user selects either the "Terms & Conditions" or "Privacy Policy" links from inside of the app. These links appear on this Registration page:



Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Up4Grabs app for iOS (version 1.4.0)

2. Select "SKIP"

3. From the Login page, select "Register"

4. From the Register page, select either "Terms & Conditions" or "Privacy Policy" 

Result: Selecting either "Terms & Conditions" or "Privacy Policy" from inside of the Up4Grabs app results in the app crashing 

Expected: Selecting either the "Terms & Conditions" or "Privacy Policy" links from inside of the Up4Grabs app should not result in the app crashing 


Download and launch the Up4Grabs app. Select the "Register" option on this page...

The app crashes if either the "Terms & Conditions" or "Privacy Policy" links are selected on this page.

There are a number of problems with the links to Foxtrot's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links inside of the Foxtrot Delivery Market iOS app.

From the Sign-up portion of the Foxtrot Delivery Market iOS app, select either "Terms of Service" or "Privacy Policy"


A foxtrot URL begins to load, but eventually it ends up on...


It ends up here, which is not a valid URL.




Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Foxtrot Delivery Market app for iOS (version 2024.10.2)

2. Select the sliding menu option in the upper left

3. Select "Sign up"

4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and notice the "By signing up, you agree to Foxtrot's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" text. Note that "Terms of Service" and "Privacy Policy" are links

5. Click on either the "Terms of Service" or "Privacy Policy" links

Result: Selecting either the "Terms of Service" or "Privacy Policy" links from inside of the Foxtrot Delivery Market app for iOS do NOT take the user to valid TOS or Privacy Policy pages. The user is instead stranded 

Expected: The "Terms of Service" and "Privacy Policy" links inside of the Foxtrot Delivery Market app for iOS should always lead to Foxtrot's valid TOS and Privacy Policy pages

According to Apple App store rules, "all apps must include a link to their privacy policy in the App Store Connect metadata field and within the app in an accessible manner." 


The People's Daily app for iOS does not follow this rule. The People's Daily app for iOS Apple App store listing links to a bad URL.



Steps to Reproduce:

1. Head to the People's Daily app for iOS listing in the Apple App Store 
2. Scroll down and select either "developer's privacy policy" or "privacy policy"

Result: The "developer's privacy policy" or "privacy policy" links on the People's Daily app store listing do NOT lead to a readable privacy policy 

Expected: The "developer's privacy policy" and "privacy policy" links from the People's Daily app store listing should lead to a readable privacy policy 




Select the "developers privacy policy" link...


Leads to: https://api.en.pdnews.cn/html/privacyPolicy.html which is not a working privacy policy.
