iOS: 12.2
Date: 04/03/2019
Description:
Canceling out of the Facebook Messenger sharing option available for food and drink displayed in the Starbucks app results in the app displaying a message that the product was "shared" successfully.
This is confusing for end users and would most likely lead many users to believe that they had just accidentally shared something that they did not intend to.
I believe that this occurs when an app is developed with an out of date Facebook Share SDK. I've seen this with other apps, and I believe that Starbucks could quickly fix this for iOS, if they were so inclined.
Please see the attached screenshots.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download and launch the Starbucks app for iOS (version 5.6)
2. Select the "Order" icon from the bottom
3. Select any product (food or drink)
4. Selecting the sharing arrow
5. Select Messenger
6. Cancel out of sharing that product
Result: Canceling out of sharing a product via Facebook Messenger using the Starbucks iOS app results in a message stating that the product was successfully shared - this is confusing for end users
Expected: If you cancel out of sharing a product, then you should not see a message about successfully sharing
Download and launch the Starbucks app for iOS (version 5.6)...
Download and launch the Starbucks app for iOS (version 5.6)...
Select an item like "Mango Dragonfruit"...
Select the share option...
Select the Facebook Messenger option...
Cancel out - do not share anything....
You'll still get a message saying that you just "shared" the item. Not a good end user experience.
