Pinterest - Account Creation - Trailing Whitespace - Email address isn't recognized if there is a trailing whitespace following it

Pinterest app for iOS (version 6.21)
Date: 03/22/2017

Description:

During account creation, the Pinterest app does not recognize as valid, legitimate e-mail addresses the  address is followed by a trailing whitespace.

A message of "Hmm..that doesn't look like an email address." appears after entering an e-mail address that includes a space after it.

This is easier to show than to describe, so please see the attached screenshots.

Note: Curiously, if you go back with the cursor, then enter 3 spaces in rapid succession, a period appears behind the email address to acknowledge that it is a valid address. The problem is that this isn't consistent.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Pinterest app for iOS
2. Select "Sign up with email"
3. From the Sign up pop-up, enter in a valid email followed by a single space
4. Click either the red "Next" button on the pop-up, or the "Next" button on the keyboard
5. Note the "Hmm..that doesn't look like an email address." text

Result: The Pinterest app does not recognize email addresses that have a trailing whitespace behind them during account creation

Expected: Pinterest app should recognize email addresses that have a trailing whitespace behind them during account creation

Download and launch the Pinterest app...

Select the "Sign up with email" option...

Enter in a valid email address...

Enter in a valid email address, followed by a single space. Then select either the red "Next" button or "Next" on the keyboard...

An error message appears that says, "Hmm..that doesn't look like an email address."

Date: 03/21/2017

Description:

I’ve gotten this crash a couple of times now. Seems to be completely reproducible.

There’s a crash that continually happens with brand new accounts. The app crashes after you delete a newly created Notebook.

Once a new account deletes a newly created Notebook, the app will crash if you press any of the options on the bottom menu bar of the app.

This is much easier to show than to describe, so please see the attached screenshots.

I've posted the crash dump to Pastebin:  http://pastebin.com/Q5C0NX3k

Steps to reproduce:

1.     Download and launch the RealSelf app for iOS
2.     Select the “I’m new” option
3.     Enter in valid information on the sign up page
4.     Select one area of interest
5.     Select “Saved”
6.     Select “Create a notebook”
7.     Create a New Notebook
8.     Select the newly created Notebook
9.     Select the settings icon in upper right hand corner of the screen
10. Select “Delete Notebook”
11. Select “Delete”
12. Select either “Home” or “Search” or “Doctors” or “Me” from the bottom bar

Result: If a new RealSelf account deletes a newly created notebook, the RealSelf iOS app crashes

Create a new account...

Choose one of these options...

Select "Done"

Select "Create a notebook"

Name the new notebook (I called it "New Notebook") and then select "Done"

RealSelf – Account Creation – Email Address isn’t recognized if there is a trailing whitespace following it

RealSelf app for iOS (version 3.3.0 – 20170310.3)
Date: 03/15/2017

Description:

Account creation will fail if the user inserts a single space behind a valid e-mail address during RealSelf account creation on iOS.

I guess the technical language for this is have a “trailing whitespace” following a perfectly valid e-mail address.

I do this without thinking all the time. The vast majority of apps on iOS can handle this during account creation without difficulty.

This is easier to show than to describe, so please see the attached screenshots.

Steps to reproduce:

1.     Download and launch the RealSelf app for iOS
2.     Select the “I’m new” option
3.     In the “Email address” input box, enter in a valid e-mail address with a trailing whitespace behind it
4.     Complete “Password” and “Username” fields and select “Sign up”
5.     Note the “Log in error” message that states “Something’s wrong with this Email address.”
6.     Compare this to most other apps

Result: During RealSelf account creation, valid e-mail addresses are not recognized if there is a trailing whitespace following it

Expected: A single space/trailing whitespace behind a valid e-mail address should not result in an error message during RealSelf account creation

Select the "I'm new" option...
Enter in a valid email address, followed by a single space...
After clicking on the "Sign up" option, the user will see...

Show & Tell app for iOS (version 1.0)
Date: 02/25/2017

Description:

I downloaded the Show & Tell app for iOS after reading an article about it. I enjoyed the app - and would very much like to see the addition of movie titles as an option to act out.

Anyways, I noticed one small bug as I was creating an account using my e-mail address. There's a "Next" button on the SIGN UP screen that does not seem to work.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download the Show & Tell app for iOS
2. Select the "SIGN UP" button
3. Select "email" from the "sign up with" pop-up menu
4. Enter in an email into the "email" input box
5. Press "Next" on the keyboard

Result: The "Next" button on the SIGN UP page does not advance the user to the next input box

Expected: The "Next" button on the SIGN UP page should advance the user to the next input box

Launch the Show & Tell app

Select "SIGN UP"
Select the "email" option

IMDB app on an iPad Mini - easy way to freeze the app using "Refine" menu from photos

IMDB iOS app (version 7.6)
Date: 02/07/2017

Description:

I've found an easy way to disable the IMDB iOS app. It's done using a technique that I doubt any end users will ever run into, but I still found it interesting!

There is an easy way to drag the photo "Refine" photo option from a photo page, back onto the main page for a movie and/or actor.

When I get this bug to appear, the pop up "Refine" menu won't go away and the app is essentially stuck. Even if I exit out of, and then restart the app, the menu still stays stuck in place. I even exited out of the app, then returned 20 minutes later, and I found it was still doing the same thing.

Easier to describe than it is to show, so please take a look at the attached screenshot.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download and launch the IMDB iOS app (version 7.6)
2. Log into your account
3. Select any movie ("John Wick: Chapter 2" for example)
4. Scroll down and select "Images"
5. From the Images: page select "Refine" and the Back arrow at the same time
6. Attempt to either "Cancel" "Clear" or "Refine" the pop up menu

Result: Easy way to freeze the IMDB app via the "Refine" feature on photos pages

Expected: Shouldn't be able to easily freeze the app - should be able to dismiss this "Refine" pop up menu

Download the app - then launch and sign in with an account...

Select any movie or actor that has images uploaded to their page...

Select "Images"...

Select these two options at roughly the same time...

The "Refine" menu gets stuck on this page. App gets frozen.

You can select different options on the "Refine" menu, but "Cancel" and "Clear" and "Refine" options do not do anything when selected. App is stuck like this.

Turn Fast by Trapp Games - share button doesn't work

Turn Fast (version 1.0) game on an iPad Mini
Date: 1/23/2017

Description:

I download the game Turn Fast by Trapp Games onto my iPad Mini the other day. Enjoyable game - little room for error!

I did keep running into one small bug that kept bothering me. On the post game score screen, two buttons (one of which is the leaderboards option - the other being what looks to be a share option) become overlaid frequently.

I kept getting this after reading 100 gems, along with the "NEW TIP AVAILABLE" prompt, or after selecting "Free Gift".

This is easier to show than to describe, so please see the attached screenshots.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Enter into gameplay
2. Collect nearly 100 gems
3. Select the "Free Gift" option
4. Return to the Score screen

Result: Leaderboard option (the trophy icon) and what looks to be a share button are overlaid

Expected: Should see share button all of the time

I have 97 gems. I see a "Free Gift" option. I select it...

I collect 40 gems, which pushes my total above 100...

A share button suddenly appears - overlaid on top of the leaderboard option. Neither work.
