Tony's Fresh Market app for iOS: Settings menu option has access to staging/prod

 iOS 14.3

Tony's Finer Foods for iOS (version 20201202)

Date: 12/29/2020

Description:

Here's an odd problem! An app for a supermarket chain called "Tony's Finer Foods" has some unusual options in the settings area.

After downloading the app, I spotted this in the Settings area:

An option to select an API Environment and an Asset Environment. I have never seen this before in the settings area for an app, and this most certainly should not have made it through Apple's app store review process.

Selecting API Environment takes the user here:

The API Environment options include the ability to seemingly toggle between the web environments of Pre/Prod/Staging.

As does the Asset Environment option.

This shouldn't be in accessible in an app for consumers that is downloadable from the app store.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download the Tony's Finer Foods app for iOS
2. Head to Settings on the iOS home screen
3. Scroll down to "Tony's Fresh Market"
4. Scroll down to TONY'S FRESH MARKET SETTINGS"

Result: An app on the app store called Tony's Finer Foods has an option in the settings area that seems to allow access to the different back-end environments

Expected: Apps should not have this accessible

Voodle app for iOS: Canceling out of the Contacts UI temporarily disables two other options in the app

iOS 14.3 on an iPhone 8

Voodle app for iOS (version 1.0.13)

Date: 12/22/20

Description:

I tried out the Voodle app for iOS today. I immediately noticed this bug:

Select the "Add from your contacts" option...

Dismiss the "Contacts" UI by selecting "Cancel"...

The Email address input box and the "Share my invite link" options are disabled until the user exits out. I actually noticed this during account creation, where it was much worse - I just thought that these two options in the app didn't work.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create an account

2. Select the circle in the upper right hand corner

3. From the slider select "Invite Teammates"

4. Select the "Add from your contacts" option

5. Select "Cancel" to dismiss the contacts UI

6. Select either the email address input box or the share option

Result: Selecting "Cancel" on the Contacts UI disables an email address input box and a share option inside of the app

Expected: Selecting "Cancel on the Contacts UI should not disable two other areas in the app

Gawq app for iOS: Account Creation - Mobile Phone entry keypad is hard to activate if user creates account using Facebook or Google credentials

iOS: 14.3 on an iPhone 6

Gawq app for iOS (version 1.0.2)

I downloaded the Gawq app for iOS today after reading an article about it. I like the idea of the app, and will continue to play around with it in the future.

There is one minor issue, however. The mobile phone entry keyboard on the "Complete registration" page does not seem to work very well if the user uses either Google or Facebook credentials to create an account.

The keyboard works flawlessly if the user uses Apple ID to create an account. They can continually call up and dismiss the mobile number keyboard continually. It doesn't work so well with Google or Facebook. I actually thought that the keyboard wasn't working at all after I logged in with my Facebook credentials.

Here's a video. The first part of the video shows the mobile phone keyboard entry after creating an account using Apple ID. It works great - the user can continually activate the keyboard.

The second part of the video shows the same keyboard after creating an account using Facebook or Google. The keyboard is VERY difficult to active.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download the Gawq app for iOS

2. From the landing page, select either the Facebook or Google options

3. After entering in valid credentials, press under "Your mobile phone" to activate the keyboard on the "Complete Registration" screen

4. Dismiss the keyboard

5. Try to activate the keyboard again

Result: The keyboard for the mobile number entry does not work well if the user uses Google or Facebook to create an account - if the user dismisses the keyboard by accident, it is very difficult to activate it again

Expected: The keyboard on the mobile number entry option on the "Complete registration" screen should work well after it has been dismissed by the user

iOS 14.3: Apple Podcasts app for iOS: Searches for "True Crime Bullsh**" cannot locate the podcast

 iOS 14.3

Apple Podcasts app for iOS

Unlike most people, I actually use the native Apple Podcast app on my iPhone. Although there are some bugs, it works decently enough, and I continue to use it.

I found an odd bug today, that I just had to write down.

Today I heard about a true crime podcast with the provocative name of "True Crime Bullsh**" I listened to an interview with the host of the show, and learned that the title is "True Crime Bullsh**"

This is what happens when I search for the "True Crime Bullsh**" podcast inside of the Apple Podcasts app:

This is the result for searching for "True Crime Bullsh**" in the app store.

As a comparison, the Google Podcasts app for iOS has no problem find the same podcast...

Oddly enough, the Apple Podcast app will sometimes auto-compete the word "Bullshit" and then it finds the app!

This seems doubly bizarre, since the app was obviously presented as "bullsh**" per Podcast app rules set by Apple.

Here's a video of the problem:

Bottom line: Can you fix it so that searches for "Truce Crime Bullsh**" actually bring up results for the podcast?

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Launch the Apple Podcast app for iOS
2. Click on "Search"
3. In the search box enter in "True Crime Bullsh**"

Result: Searches for "True Crime Bullsh**" inside of the Apple Podcasts app for iOS are not returning the "True Crime Bullsh**" podcast

Expected: Searches for "True Crime Bullsh**" inside of the Apple Podcast app should return the "True Crime Bullsh**" podcast
