Warren Group app for iOS: City suggestions during sign up are perplexing

Warren Groups app for iOS (version 2.14.2)
Date: 05/01/2019

Description:

The suggested cities that the user is presented with during account creation are a bit odd. I've seen this with other apps, and I know that you are probably simply using a database API - but the suggested cities are especially strange for an app connected to a Presidential campaign.

For example, if the user types in Omaha, one would expect that Omaha, Nebraska, would be returned as the top suggestion.

Instead, typing in "Omaha" resulted in me seeing: two roads in New Zealand, a circle in Florida, and a drive in Texas. Take a look at this screenshot:

Here are some other odd suggestions.

A search for Boston does not return Boston....

A search for "Portland" should (IMO) bring back either the city in Oregon, or the city in Maine. Instead, a street in Manchester, England, is returned...

This is a search for "Honolulu"

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Warren Groups app for iOS
2. Select "Sign Up"
3. Enter in a valid First Name, Last Name, and Email
4. Click inside of the "City & State" input box
5. Enter in the name of any number of cities

Result: The returned suggested cities during account registration with the Warren Groups app are bizarre - the top suggested cities are frequently not in the United States

Expected: The returned suggested cities should always be in the United States (I believe it could be a campaign finance violation to even suggest this)

Twitter app for iOS (version 7.48.5) has a "Create a List" button that does nothing

Twitter app for iOS (version 7.48.5)
Date: 04/27/2019

Description:

There is a "Create a List" button inside of the iOS app with the current Twitter app. This button does not seem to do anything - nothing happens when you press the button.

This behavior is different from the Twitter website, where, after the user presses the "Create a List" button, the user is able to create a list.

This is easier to show than to describe, so please see the attached screenshots.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Twitter app for iOS (version 7.48.5)
2. Either sign into an account
3. Go to any profile on Twitter
4. Select the three dot menu option in the upper right hand corner of the screen
5. Select the "Add/remove from Lists"
6. From the "You haven't created or subscribed to any Lists" page - click the "Create a List" button

Result: The "Create a List" button that is visible on pop up screen that says "You haven't created or subscribed to any Lists" does not seem to work - nothing happens when you press this button

Expected: The "Create a List" button on the "You haven't created or subscribed to any Lists" should work when pressed - it should create a prompt to create a list

Select the three circle option in the upper right...

Select the "Add/remove from Lists" option...

This "Create a List" button does nothing.

Postmates - Food Delivery app for iOS: Canceling out of Facebook Messenger share dialog results in a message implying you've shared something when you haven't

Postmates app for iOS (version 5.1.4)
Date: 04/26/2019

Description:

Canceling out of the Facebook Messenger sharing results in a message implying the user has successfully shared something from the Postmates app, even when they haven't.

This is easier to show than it is to describe, so please look at the attached screenshots. I think that this problem has something to do with an out of date Facebook Share SDK.

This problem happens if the user tries to share via the "Invite Friends, Get $100" page.

If the user opens up Facebook Messenger, via this page, a message is auto-generated. It reads: "Want $100 in Postmates delivery fee credit? It's valid for 7 days when you sign up with my link (new customers only!) https://postmat.es/wywJC1VdcW"

If the user cancels out of the Facebook Messenger share dialog, a message appears that says: "Thanks for sharing Postmates! You'll receive your credit as soon as your friend places their first order with your referral link."

This message is misleading as the user has NOT shared anything - it's a success message where there shouldn't be one. If possible, please fix!

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Postmates app for iOS
2. Select the gift box icon in the upper right hand corner of the app
3. From the "Invite Friends, Get $100" page, select the sharing arrow at the bottom of the screen
4. Select Messenger
5. Cancel out of the Messenger sharing option
6. Read the message at the bottom of the screen that says: "Thanks for sharing Postmates! You'll receive your credit as soon as your friend places their first order with your referral link."

Result: Canceling out of the Facebook Messenger sharing dialog results in a message inside of the Postmates app that an invitation to Postmates was successfully shared

Expected: Not this - there should not be a message about successfully sharing something via Facebook Messenger when the user canceled out of the process

Select "Invite Friends" option from inside of the Postmates app...

Select the sharing arrow on the bottom left hand corner of the screen...

Select "Cancel" and cancel out of Facebook Messenger...

The user will still be displayed a message that implies message was successfully shared via Facebook Messenger.

Postmates - Food Delivery app for iOS: Null and searches bring back odd results

Postmates - Food Delivery app for iOS (version 5.1.4)
Date: 04/23/2019

Description:

Running a search on the Postmates app for the term "null" or "<null>" both seems to slow the app's ability to search, and brings back some odd results.

This happens if you go to any large national chain - like a Subway or a Chipolte, and then run a search for "null"

The items that are return frequently have lorem ipsum placeholder text. There are items that simply have "null" in their description.

An example of "Null" in a product description...

Clicking on the product results in a 404 message...

Here's a video of additional bad products returned by a search for "null" -

La Redoute app for iOS (version 8.14.1)

The word "Settings" is missing on the pop-up that sends the user to change the app permissions for camera access. The word is missing for all the supported languages of the app.

Result: the word "Settings" does not appear in any of the supported languages of the La Redoute app

Expected: the word "Settings" should appear on the button that takes the user out of the app and to the settings section of the iOS device

How in the world is this not a compliance requirement?

Wanelo: Canceling out of Facebook Messenger share dialog results in a "Success" message

Wanelo app for iOS (version 5.41)
Date: 04/16/2019

Description:

Canceling out of Facebook Messenger sharing results in a "success" message - even though the end user shared nothing via Facebook Messenger.

I believe that this problem has something to do with an out of date Facebook Share SDK.

Please see the attached screenshots for more information.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Wanelo app (version 5.41) for iOS
2. Select any product in the app
3. From any product's detail page, select the share option in the upper right hand corner of the screen
4. Select the Facebook Messenger option
5. Select "Cancel" from the Messenger share dialog (do NOT share the product)
6. Note the "Success" message that appears on screen

Result: Canceling out of the Facebook Messenger share dialog screen from a Wanelo product, will nonetheless result in a "Success" message implying the product was shared on Messenger

Expected: There should NOT be a "Success" message if the user cancels out of sharing a Wanelo product via Facebook Messenger

Select any product featured in the Wanelo app...

Select the share option...

Select the Messenger option...

Select "Cancel" to exit out of the Facebook Messenger sharing dialog.....

The user sees a "Success" message.

Starbucks: Canceling out of Facebook Messenger share dialog results in a success message

Starbucks app for iOS (version 5.6)
iOS: 12.2
Date: 04/03/2019

Description:

Canceling out of the Facebook Messenger sharing option available for food and drink displayed in the Starbucks app results in the app displaying a message that the product was "shared" successfully.

This is confusing for end users and would most likely lead many users to believe that they had just accidentally shared something that they did not intend to.

I believe that this occurs when an app is developed with an out of date Facebook Share SDK. I've seen this with other apps, and I believe that Starbucks could quickly fix this for iOS, if they were so inclined.

Please see the attached screenshots.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the Starbucks app for iOS (version 5.6)
2. Select the "Order" icon from the bottom
3. Select any product (food or drink)
4. Selecting the sharing arrow
5. Select Messenger
6. Cancel out of sharing that product

Result: Canceling out of sharing a product via Facebook Messenger using the Starbucks iOS app results in a message stating that the product was successfully shared - this is confusing for end users

Expected: If you cancel out of sharing a product, then you should not see a message about successfully sharing

Download and launch the Starbucks app for iOS (version 5.6)...

Select an item like "Mango Dragonfruit"...
Select the share option...
Select the Facebook Messenger option...
Cancel out - do not share anything....
You'll still get a message saying that you just "shared" the item. Not a good end user experience.
