 iOS 14.3

Curtsy app for iOS (version 5.0.1)

Date: 01/21/21

Description:

There is an easy to reproduce crash with the Curtsy app for iOS.

I would guess that the easy way o describe it is that anytime the share sheet for a product is select consecutively, the app crashes.

This is easier to show than to describe, so please take a look at this video:

Here's the crash dump:

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download and launch the app

2. Create an account and enter into the app

3. Select any individual product

4. From any product's detail page, select the share option

5, Select "Cancel" to dismiss the share sheet

Cravve App for iOS: Cancel option disappears on the Edit Profile screen disappears if user exits out of taking a profile photo

iOS 14.3 on an iPhone 8

Cravve app for iOS (version 2.2.1)

Date: 01/19/21

Description:

Minor function bug with the Cravve app for iOS. If the user cancels out of snapping a profile picture using the camera, the option to back out of the settings screen disappears.

The user gets stuck on this screen without a way to exit out - at least no way I can find:

The "Cancel" option has disappeared:

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download app - create account
2. Select the profile option in the bottom right
3. Select the slider in the upper right
4. Select the Settings gear
5. From the Settings page select "Account"
6. From the Edit Profile page select "Edit Profile Photo"
7. Select "Camera"
8. Cancel out by selecting "Cancel"
9. Attempt to exit out the Edit Profile page (can't - "Cancel" in upper left has disappeared)

Result: Easy way for users to get stranded on the Edit Profile page - a "Cancel" option disappears if the user selects the camera option for a new profile picture and exits out of it

Expected: Menu options shouldn't disappear if the user cancels out of taking a photo

Select the "Settings" option...

Select the "Account" option...

Keep your eye on the "Cancel" option in the upper right. Select the "Edit Profile Photo" option...

Select the "Camera" option...

After activating the camera, select the "Cancel" option...

After closing out of the camera, you'll find that the "Cancel" option on this screen has disappeared. The user is stranded.

Woot app for iOS: Log-Out option appears even if the app is in guest mode and if the user is not signed into an account

iOS 14.3 on an iPhone 8

Woot app for iOS (version 4.6.1.332)

Date: 01/14/21

Description:

Here's either a bug, or a deliberately strange design choice. The current version (4.6.1.332) of the Woot app for iOS has an odd issue.

Here's a video of the issue:

The app has a log-out feature that appears even if the user has not created or is signed into an account. The user can continually select this log-out feature, and receive a dialog about having logged out. But the option still remains!

Very odd, and I believe that this is the first time that I have seen an iOS app do something like this.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download the Woot app for iOS for the very first time

2. Select the "Account" option

3. From the "Account" screen, scroll down to "Log out of Woot"

4. Select the "Log out of Woot" option

5. Select "Ok" from the "You have been logged out!" option

Result: There is a "Log out of Woot" option that appears even if the user has never created an account and if the app is in guest mode. The purpose of this "Log out of Woot" option is unclear, and this option does not disappear after selecting it and receiving a conformation message

Expected: There shouldn't be a "Log out of Woot" option if the user is not signed into an account

Download the app. Select the "Account" option - the app is in Guest mode and the user is NOT signed into an account...

Scroll down on the "Account" screen - there is a "Log out of Woot" option even though the user is NOT signed into an account...

After selecting the "Log out of Woot" option, the user is presented with a message that states, "You have been logged out!" - however, the user is able to go back, see the same log-out option, and receive this message over and over.

YouTube app for iOS: Cancel and Save options on profile pic selection screen often (perhaps always) don't work

iOS 14.3 on an iPhone 8

YouTube app for iOS (version 15.49.4)

Date: 01/11/21

Description:

There's an bad functional bug with the current version of the YouTube app for iOS.

To put it simply: the user just seems to get stuck when attempting to select a new profile photo inside of the app.

I believe that this is because the user is NOT presented with this prompt:

When the user enters in selects a new profile photo.

I just keep getting continually stuck on a screen like this:

Both "Cancel" and "Save" appear to be broken. Nothing happens when they are selected.

To be clear - this is for users who have just freshly downloaded the YouTube app for iOS onto their device. There's no prompt for photo access, so therefore the "Save" and "Cancel" options are not working. This is terrible end-user experience.

Here's a video of the problem:

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download the YouTube app for iOS (version 15.49.4)
2. Sign into a pre-existing account
3. Select the account icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen
4. From the account page select "Your Channel"
5. Select "Edit Channel"
6. From the "Channel Settings" screen, click on the camera icon to select the photo
7. From the "Update photo" menu, select "Choose from your photos"
8. Select any photo from the camera roll
9. Select either "Cancel" or "Save"

Result: New users who download the YouTube app, then sign into a pre-existing account, will get stuck in the profile picture update area. Two options - "Cancel" and "Save" don't do anything

Expected: A user should never be stranded on a screen inside of an iOS app where "Cancel" and "Save" do nothing

 Download the app...

After signing into an old account - select the account icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Select the "Your channel" option...

Select the "Edit Channel" option...

Select the camera icon...

Select the "Choose from your photos" option...

Select any photo from the camera roll...

The user is stuck on a screen, where the "Cancel" and "Save" options do nothing!

Gawq app for iOS: Search - a blank space after a search term negates valid results

iOS 14.3 on an iPhone 8

Gawq app for iOS (version 1.0.8)

Date: 01/10/21

Description:

Here's a minor pet peeve with the search functionality of the Gawq app. If there is a single space entered behind a valid search term, categories like Topics and Channels are not displayed.

This is easier to show than to describe, so please take a look at the screenshots below.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. With a valid account - launch the app

2. Select the search option

3. Select the input box under "Search the media"

4. Enter a valid search term like "Rolling Stone" with a single blank space trailing behind the term

5. Run a search - notice that Rolling Stone's channel is NOT returned

6. Run a search of "Rolling Stone" minus a single space

7. Note that Rolling Stone's channel is returned

Result: The inclusion of a single space behind search terms results in valid Topics and Channels not being displayed.

Expected: Many (all) users include a single space behind search terms in input boxes - the app should gracefully handle the inclusion of single spaces behind search terms

Enter in a search term with no space behind the search term...

After searching for "Rolling Stone" without a space behind it, Rolling Stone's channel appears. This is expected behavior.

Now run a search for "Rolling Stone" with a single space behind the search term...

The channel for "Rolling Stone" does NOT appear. This is not expected behavior.
